As a part of the Project “Let's Talk About Political Accountability” Centre for Policy and Governance on 9 June 2016 in Hotel Europe Sarajevo has organized ReForum conference „The role of civil society in decision making process and EU accession“.
The participants of the conference were addressed by Mrs. Snjezana Ivandic-Ninkovic, Director of Association for Democratic Initiatives, Mr. Goran Zeravcic, CEO of Kronauer Consulting and Mrs. Maja Rimac-Bjelobrk, Assistant Director of Directorate for European Integrations of the BiH Council of Ministers. The event attended representatives of state institutions, representatives of civil society organizations as well as representatives of international organizations in BiH.
The main aim of the conference was to gather government and non-government representatives in order to create constructive dialogue and to define recommendations and guidelines for further actions.
During the conference following topics were discussed: legal framework of citizen's participation in decision making process in BiH, current condition in civil society, organization’s capacities to influence public policies, funding of organizations, connection and networking of organizations as well as interaction with the authorities and attitude of authorities toward civil society and role of civil society in process of EU accession.
Panelists and participants have defined recommendations which can serve as guidelines to all organizations, individuals and institutions for development of their capacities and for further improvement of collaboration, which will result in greater participation of civil society in decision-making process. In upcoming period the video materials and the report which will include relevant recommendations will be available on Centre for Policy and Governance’s social media channels.
